Repurposing Birthdays
Celebrating the day you came into this world
is fine
But…
Rather than ask
How many years old am I
or
How many years do I have,
Try Celebrating
How many times you’ve told
your partner,
husband,son,daughter, yourself…
I love you!
Make merry
On the many times have you woken up
And greeted the new day with
Eager Anticipation!
Have you excitedly counted the times
When you’ve taken responsibility for
Well
Everything in your life?
With bubbling satisfaction
Have you kept track of
Those moments you discovered
You just might be wrong?
Revel over those times
When
You admitted
“I don’t know.”
Imagine giving a party and inviting all your friends
complete with all the decadent yummies
Because
“I just forgave myself for the 100th time!!
Now that is cause for celebration!
So….
While you are in this
Painting- the- town Counting stuff mood
How many times have you really enjoyed…
a good book
a good movie
a good laugh
a good meal
a good cry
a great conversation?
Pay tribute
To those times
You have sincerely apologized
and met a challenge in your life
with infinite Grace?
You might remember
all the times you asked – Why?
But
Commemorate
The opportunities
You found
To ask
What am I supposed to learn here?
Live it up!,
Have a Ball!
Happy …. YOU-day!
