Another Day Alone

Today has no goal

unless breath is a goal

like yesterday

one moment

unfolding the way it does

seamless stitches

into this colossal quilt

of choices

some call for one path up the mountain

I call for many

offerings to the altar

found within me

inviting, burrowing

calm now

dark earth churning

as close as ever

something else

appealing inside

asking me to walk

for a while

let the questions

like hail

my open
