Another Day Alone

Today has no goal

unless breath is a goal

like yesterday

tomorrow

one moment

unfolding the way it does

seamless stitches

into this colossal quilt

of choices

some call for one path up the mountain

I call for many

offerings to the altar

found within me

inviting, burrowing

calm now

dark earth churning

mayhem

as close as ever

something else

appealing inside

quiet

asking me to walk

alone

for a while

let the questions

insist

like hail

outside

my open

window
